Program Qualification Level

PHYSIOTHERAPY associate degree program (short level in the Bologna Process Higher Education Qualifications Framework and fifth level in TYYÇ) is an associate degree program focused on vocational education and application and is designed to meet the needs of the business world at the relevant field and level and to provide graduates with the basic knowledge and practical application competencies for employment in this field. The classification and training area codes of the program are given below according to International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED) 2011 and Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ):

Objectives of the Program

The aim of the Physiotherapy Technician Program is to train physiotherapy technicians who are equipped with contemporary knowledge and skills, have the developed ability to research and also to solve problems, have cultural background and communication, can use technological tools and equipments, and give importance to human health and ethical values. Because it is intensively felt that these physiotherapy technicians with the two-year associate degree education  are lacking in public hospitals, private hospitals, university hospitals, physical therapy and rehabilitation clinics and private branch centers.

The graduates of the program are given the associate degree diploma and the title of “Physiotherapy Technician” by the decision of YOK Executive Board.

Length and Process of the Program

Duration of education is 4 semesters. During the education process, a minimum of 120 ECTS must be completed, provided that it is not less than 60 ECTS. Our students will do their internship in the relevant departments of the university and the application and research hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Health. Internship evaluation and applications are done according to the principles of Internship Directions of Vocational School of Health Services.

Application to the Program, Registrations and Admission by Transfer

Entry requirements for this program are determined by OSYM in accordance with the relevant legislation of the Higher Education Institution. Students who complete the program are given the opportunity to transfer to the Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Department and Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Colleges  according to their score from the DGS.
