Unit of Scientific Research Projects (USRP) of University of Health Sciences started its activities in 2017. Original, academic, innovative, value-added, visionary projects are tried to be supported according to the requirements of our country. As the first university with a health theme, infrastructure projects are among the most supported projects in order to raise strong future. Scientific research, master's, doctorate and specialty projects are other supported projects, and since the day it went into action, many projects (50 projects in 2017, 100 projects in 2018, and 114 projects in 2019) have been supported. The number of projects decided to be supported as of September 2020 is 93.
Through the USRP, an extremely important research laboratory infrastructure is being established with the Fuat Sezgin Validebağ Research Center project to our University. Also Hamidiye Faculty of Medicine Biochemistry, Histology, Cell Culture and Modeling Laboratory, Medical Microbiology, Anatomy, Dental Medicine Preclinical Phantom Laboratory, Pharmacy, Nursing, Midwifery, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Pharmacognosis, Pharmacologic Toxicology, Food, Nutrition and Dietetics, Phytotherapy, Occupational Health and Safety, First and Emergency Aid Simulation Systems Training, Children's Play and Drama Research and Education Laboratories have been established in the Hamidiye Campus. In the Gulhane campus, Faculty of Medicine Anatomy, Pharmacy, Dental Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy Laboratories and Research and Training Laboratories for Chemical Biological Radioactive Nuclear threats have been established. In addition, the installation work for the laboratory for Stem Cell Laboratory, Aerospace Medicine Laboratory and the laboratory concerning Biosensor R&D have been continuing.

Between 2014 and 2020, the EU will provide almost €80bn in funding for research, mainly through its flagship research programme Horizon 2020. This funding usually takes the form of grants, to part-finance a broad range of research projects.
The EU provides funding for a broad range of projects and programmes covering areas such as:

Support Mechanism
In order to benefit from Agencies’ support mechanisms, the stakeholder should provide these conditions:
- Current Support Mechanism:
The institutions cannot apply for a support mechanism in every subject or in every time. They can only apply to the Agency, which operates in stakeholders’ region, if it has an open support programme.
- Meeting the Criteria:
Proposer: The legal status of the project proposer needs to fit the type of institutions which is specified in the call document.
Activities: The subject and the activities of the project should be coherent with the priorities and constrains indicated in the Programme Application Guide.
Expenditures: The expenditures should be appropriate as indicated in the programme document.
- Application Procedure and Documents:
The project proposal should be in the format remarked in the Programme Application Guide. Project proposal form, budget, logical framework and other relevant documents have to be in this format.
Technical Support
Technical support is provided by the Agency via Agency staff or via service procurement in order to increase technical capacities of local institutions and organizations. It does not include any type of financial support.
